Our home base is at New Quarter Farm in Gloucester County, Virginia. New Quarter (92VA and on the sectional) is located within 2 miles of the York River, and almost directly across the York River from Camp Peary’s (W94) paved runway. Runways 15 (a left hand pattern) and 33 (a right hand pattern) are on perfectly manicured grass – 3200 feet long. Our CTAF is 122.85. TPA is 500 feet. There is a dirt road that crosses the runway approximately 1000 feet from the south end. Planes can easily land and cross this dirt road from either direction.
Many SVLAF members also store their planes at our second location at Beaverdam Airpark (VA33 and also on the sectional) in Surry County, Virginia. The east/west runway both have left hand patterns. Their CTAF is also 122.85.
Our club meetings are held at New Quarter Farm, Beaverdam Airpark and at the Abingdon Rescue Squad in Hayes, Virginia (Gloucester County). The address for the rescue squad is 2676 Hayes Road, Hayes, VA 23072. Meeting locations will be posted on the website.
